DAVE
It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that our good friend, captain and golfing associate, Dave McLeod, has succumbed to his ailment. On Sunday 12th September he took a turn for the worse and was taken to hospital where he passed away peacefully at 17h40.
On behalf of all the EGGs and their friends we send sincerest condolences to Desiré and her family on the passing of Dave, who we all loved and respected very much. He will be sadly missed.
Our beloved David passed away peacefully on Sunday 12th September at 17.40. Sean, Warren and I were at his bedside holding his hands. He was at peace and ready to go. Earlier in the day Warren had prayed for him and asked if he would come to Jesus, who came to this world to reconcile us to His Father, and David said YES. After the prayer our boys left the room and David then looked at me and said," Desiré, I am ready to go and I want to go." I then kissed him and said," I love you very dearly and I give you my blessing. Go with my love and peace and I will see you later."
In all our sadness this was a very special few hours.
After he died our daughters-in-law brought the grandchildren to the hospital. They had all seen him earlier in the day and were now able to say goodbye to their father and grandfather. His special friends from Erinvale also came to tell him how much he was loved and would be missed and he recognized each one and was able to say goodbye. He was a most special husband, father and grandfather and above all a wonderful friend.
Your love and support has been very special to us and now we will meet on Friday at 2.30 at the Baptist Church,cnr.Hendrizchs and Louw, Land en Zeezicht to celebrate David's life. A wake will be held at Erinvale Golf Club at 4.00pm.
We request in lieu of flowers a donation to ECHO (Erinvale Care and Help Organisation), would be greatly appreciated, as ECHO has been such a major part of his life living here at Erinvale, which has been our paradise on earth for the past 15 years.
